H.O.D.
Department of Mathematics was started in June 1964 and offering special B.Sc. Part-III Mathematics degree course under UG Program since 1973-74. The first batch of B.Sc. Part-III was of seven students. Also Department has started also M.Sc. Mathematics Course from 2016-17.
The former Head Late Mr. K.S.Shewade was the backbone of the Mathematics Department. Late Mr. B.R.Bapat, Mr. S.V.Chavan-Patil, Dr. P.M.Patil and the former Head Dr. A.D.Lokhande have also did the best to develop the Department. Now Dr. S.N.Golgire is working as the Head of Department of Mathematics. One faculty member was a research guide and he has guided two Ph. D. Students. One faculty member has completed one minor research project funded by UGC and one major research project is submitted to Shivaji University Kolhapur under silver jubilee scheme.
Our six students were passed MPSC Exam. Five students qualified SET / NET Exam. and five students have achieved Ph.D. award.
Department has organized various curricular activities such as workshops, webinar, guest lectures, skill development courses, seminars, group discussions, problem solving sessions, computational mathematics laboratory work. Apart from this Department has organized various co-curricular activities such as National Mathematics Day, Fun Fair in Mathematics, Visit to various high-schools and Jr. Colleges, Mathematics Study Club for enhancing and upliftment of employability of the students. One student has achieved university rank. The placement of our most of the students in educational, banking, IT sectors.
